  • Marvel G400--1x or 2x AGP??

I can't remember which one I should set in the BIOS. I think I remember some heartburn in regards to the actual speed of the first Marvel G400 cards as opposed to advertised.

    Another question:

I just bought a 1.4G Tbird (266MHz FSB) and 512M PC133 SDRAMM. I set the BIOS CPU clock to 133MHz and the SDRAMM at 133 as well. Sysoft Sandra says that my PCI bus is at 44MHz (bad). I contacted Epox (MB maker) and they said that my setup was right and that Sandra was reporting the wrong info. Is there any other way to verify this? I really don't want to fry the rest of my cards. I haven't experienced any crashes, so they may be right.

    Thanks guys

Fear not, Sanda does identify the PCI speed incorrectly - even on 133 FSB it assumes 1/3 divider.

I currently have my 1ghz AXIA TBird running at 150x9.5 (1425) and it's solid as a rock and there's no way the PCI cards are running with a bus speed of 50. Before you ask - this is not my video editing machine with Marvel in it.

Thanks! I thought that there would be some more scientific method, rather than assuming that there is a 1/3 divider. I went throught the BIOS to see if there was an asynchronous setting, but the fact that it should just be 1/4 insead of 1/3 bothered me. If the chipset was designed for 133MHz FSB, then it should automatically adjust for it. I guess that is what it does.

      Thanks
