PC-VCR Mutes Audio in Win2000

Since I switched to Win2000 my PC-VCR keeps muting the audio when I playback video. Anyone got a clue on what I am not doing or what I should do? When I unmute it works fine until I select another file to playback.

Win2000 (dual boot - separate partician)
P3-1000
384 RAM
45 gig boot drive (6 gig used for Win2000)
60 gig Promise Raid
Santa Cruz Sound
G450eTV
MSP 6.5
