What's new or claimed to be fixed?

Nero seems to be going in the same direction as Adaptec where each new update fixes something and breaks something else. 5.0 was a life saver as a digruntled Adaptec user, 5.5.18 was fun for VCD and SVCD but broke a few things I could live without at the time and 5.5.40 hasn't caused me any grief yet. Versions in between seemed bad as I got coasters where I never did before.

If it ain't broke don't fix it is good advice here. Lots of folks over on alt.comp.periphs.cdr are having trouble with various Nero versions so if you're not having trouble I'd be wary unless there is a new feature you simply must have.

I've read they "fixed" the mpeg2/mp3 issue.
That is, illegally copied plugins woin't work anymore...
