  • RT2000 software codec

    Hi,

Is there any way how to playback, (or better convert) RT2000 avi files included in Premiere's project without a RT2000 card? I know that it's possible with Canopus codec (sw playback) and if you need to render there is also DV file converter available (Canopus codec <-> MS DV codec, without recompression).

Is there something similar for RT2000?

What I need: I'll have a three Premiere projects on HDD that have been edited using RT2000. But I've got a Canopus's EzDV in my computer. I want only frameserve the projects from Premiere's timeline to encode it for further DVD project. I'm affraid of problems reading the avi-s.

    any suggestion?

    thanks

    Ivan

Install the RT-2000 software codecs on the other systems and you can edit those files in Premiere, MSPro or whatever editor supports softcodecs. You'll just likely have to load the audio files separately.

The softcodecs are both on the RT-2000 CD and downloadable from the Matrox RT-2000 downloads page.

As far as playing them in MediaPlayer goes, not likely as it doesn't look for separate audio files as the RT-2000 creates.

      where to d/l

Many thanks Doc, I've foud something there but I have to be registered probably as a user (owner) of RT2000 and that I'll have an access to d/l page. Do you know any other source?

As I've mentioned before, I'm not an owner of RT2000. So I don't have any CDs with codecs.

I've foud some link on RT2000 forum, that was on DIgiSuite d/l page but it was recommended by Matrox tech-support so I decided to d/l and install. (Matrox VFW software codecs v 5.0.0.1149)

          I'm usimg NT4 SP6a, Premiere 6.01. There were installed Codecs Matrox DV/DVCAM, DVCPRO. DVCPRO50 M-JPEG, MPEG-2 I frame,

But now I'm not sure if it was a good decission.
Projects are ppj+avi+waw file. Fourcc of avis is "dvsd" using Matrox MQS.??.. Filter Format 4. Build 2.0.0.269 DigiVCap.(Properties of avi)

Strange is that all projects has their waw-s cca 30mins but avi files (properties and in Premiere too) are all cca 9 mins only, doesn't matter on their size. It's not right because one of them has cca 8GB and computed bitrate is >13Mbps and it's non sense if we speaking about DV I suppose.

          What's wrong?
Will I have to uninstall DigiSuite sw codecs and look for the other one? What about the problem of 9mins limit? (Files are on NTFS partition.|

If you're not an RT-2000 owner you can't get the codecs so that's out.

The digisuite codecs I haven't messed with so I can't speak to them.
