  • TV card to use with G400MAX & XP

I've been a mostly happy user of Rainbow Runner with my G400 MAX.

I haven't been able to get it working satisfactorily in Windows XP. The TV image stays locked in the upper left corner on my primary monitor. When I move the PC-VCR window the locked image doesn't move with it. The TV image also doesn't fill the window.

As are many others, I'm very unhappy that Matrox is not providing RR support for XP.

Is there a fix for this?

If not, can anyone recommend another TV card to use with my G400? I want to be able to move the TV window to either monitor.

    Thanks for any help.

    Hi,

There are lots of options out there. The ones I have been using succesfully with a G400 are:
    $49 WinTV-GO + FM
    $79 WinTV-Radio

The first one (GO+FM) is a pretty good value, but does not capture stereo from TV. The second one can capture stereo TV. Just a FYI, both have SVideo connectors. Also, you can capture stereo from a camcorder with these cards because sound is handled via a pass through cable to your sound card.

      Andrew,

      Thanks for your response,

Will these cards allow the TV display to be on either monitor of a dual monitor system?

At the very beginning, when I first installed my Marvel G400, I have had the same problem.
Installing the VIA- AGP driver to my earlier machine solved the problem. (VIAGART)
What motherboard, chipset are you using?
Latest 4in1 AGP driver to VIA or AMD AGP Miniport, depending of the northbridge, should help.

I have a similar problem under win2k. See here for Matrox's response: (or lack thereof) http://forum.matrox.com/mgaforum/For...ML/004065.html

            Hi,

To be completely honest, I have not tried putting the tv signal to the 2nd monitor. I only use the WinTV card to do YUY2 captures.
