  • Some advice from "conoisseurs", please...

    Hi, Desktop Video folks.

A friend of mine is building a new PC mainly for DV editing. We´d like to know what sound card (not a very expensive one) would be the better, and why. Are digital outputs/inputs important?

Also, some general tips on the new system would be of much help. Thanks a lot in advance.

The Turtle Beach Santa Cruz (North America), aka the VideoLogic Sonic Fury in Europe.

Not terribly expensive, sounds great, has certified drivers for both Win2K and XP and has numerous configuration options.

Digital inputs aren' t much of a factor unless you plan on using ditigal audio sources for importing source material. The Santa Cruz/Sonic Fury has an internal digital port if that source is a DVD reader.
