  • Best setup for Marvel G400 under W2K?

With the final and beta drivers now in use by many for a while...Which drivers, VT etc do I choose for an optimal Win2000 install?

    - must be able to capture YUV via HuffYUV (green line fixed?)

    - MJPEG not needed (can use sw codec if ever needed)

    - would be nice if the TV tuner could be used to capture TV programs.

If it's of importance, I'm in PAL zone.

    thx for any tips!

I got a reply from Haig at the Matrox support forums and he said that the only difference between the "leaked" and final drivers/VT was the MJPEG had been disabled in the final. If you want to capture you have to use either Ulead, avi_io or Virtual Dub. I personally prefer avi_io and it is only $25. Virtual Dub is free, but I find avi_io more reliable (less drops and keeps sync and fps locked).

If you aren't worried about MJPEG than the final drivers should work fine. I don't get the annoying green line anymore that I had in Win98SE (bottom of screen?) I used the final drivers and the MJPEG install tips form an earlier post and it works great. I probably could have just used the leaked ones, but I didn't know at the time that they were the same.
