Hello everyone.
I can't believe it's been so long since I've posted to this forum. I must say, I never really intended to stop participating, but the workload of university seems to have taken me away from video editing for a while.
Anyways, I decided to get back into a little video work recently, and what do I find? It seems the MJPEG codec no longer works properly. Why is it that if you don't use some software for several months and then try to use it again, there always seem to be problems?? Can't companies make software that doesn't bugger up the registry during the installation process?
Basically, my problem is that MJPEG files no longer play back. Media Player reports "Class not registered (Error=80040154)". I have done a full uninstall/reinstall of Matrox Powerdesk, RR drivers, DirectX, and MediaPlayer. That doesn't seem to help. I also ran Regclean and Norton WinDoctor, which didn't help. I know this is a long shot, but does anyone know a way to fix this without formatting and reinstalling Windows?
Thanks,
JT
