Hi experts
I would like some advice on rendering footage in After Effects.
I have some wedding ceremony footage where I want to zoom in and loose a wayward head at the bottom and have removed some shaking as well. My original MJpeg file is 704x576. I have reduced the resolution on the compositions to 572x468 (same 11:9 ratio). I intend to finish the footage as an MPEG destined for a computer CD so will render the final video in Cinemacraft MPEG encoder as a Premiere Plug in at 352x288 (all PAL). I have been maintaining the 704x576 and planed to let the MPEG encoder do all the reduction to 352x288.
My question is how should I export my adjusted footage from After Effects and import into Premiere:
1. Uncompressed 572x468
2. Matrox MJpeg “stretched to 704x576
3. Matrox MJpeg “stretched to 352x288
I guess the question is should I let After Effects do some recompressing/expanding before encoding it to an MPEG.
I do realise I should be using uncompressed or Huffyuv for encoding to MPEG but in total I will be using up to an hour of footage so the I need the MJpeg compression. I have been previously happy with the results of MJpeg to MPEG. Although I have enough room to use uncompressed footage for this segment. I also exported the segment from Premiere as uncompressed before importing it into After Effects – should I be keeping it all MJpeg at ever step?
