  • Great audio program to cleanup video capture

I was having a host of problems getting my
video capture sound to not sound awful. I
have a great program that helped clean up my
sound. The program is called GoldWave and the
    site is loacted here:http://www.goldwave.com
I used it and know it sounds great.

I second that. I've been using it for five years now. All the bells and whistles for just $40; registers you for *all* future upgrades, supports just about every format under the sun. Noise reduction (not just noise gate, but true FFT signal processing), custom distortions, flanges, sample-level editing, every level of zoom you could want, real-time oscilloscope and frequency graphs, unlimited recording, CD and video extraction, independent pitch change and time compression, Doppler, custom filters and expression-based processing, etc. Makes MSP's audio editor look like a preschooler's toy.

Just please register it! The guy's Canadian, for Pete's sakes!! That and the registration fee is minimal for what you're getting.

Damn, those Canadians are smart cookies...

How does this program compare with Cool Edit 96 (or other variations of Cool Edit)?

Hmmm... close call. Looks a lot like the difference between Premiere (Cool Edit) and MediaStudio Pro (GoldWave and Multiquence 1.02). It's a preference thing. You'll have to try both.
