  • DiVx playback problem with G400 Max

I have problem playing SOME DiVx that I have. They skip frame like crazy. The bigger I set the view (50%-100%-200%-full screen), the more frames it skips. I only have problem with a few of them. After some investigation, this is what I have found....

It only skip frames on titles with original resolution @ 720 * ??? (it doesn't matter what that ??? is) It has no problem playing back titles with original resolution @ 640 x ???, or 672 X ???.

    My system configuration is:
    PIII 600
Matrox Millenium Max 32 Mb with TV out(For the DiVx that I have problem with (720X???), I can't even send it to TV. It is fine otherwise for (640X??? & 672 X ???)
    Sound Blaster Live! Value
    Media Player 6.4 (latest)
    Mpeg4 Codec 3.1a (latest)
    DirectX 7.0a (latest)

    Do u have any idea??

Have you tried reinstalling the 98SE and download Media Player 6.4 and the latest DiVx codec? I am not sure if a clean install would solve the problem or not..but it might...I am not sure.

Same problem here when using W2k Pro and PD 5.03...

In W98 they work much better. So this definitely looks like a driver problem.

I just had the same problem:
          What I did :
          I removed(renamed) c:\window\system\divX_c32.ax
now, nof lost frames or whatever!!!
          Great!

PS: some persons reported that the quality may be affected, but It can work!
