  • weak divx & video playback with g550

    hello there,
i bought g550 mainly due to matrox dual head, i wanted to use it for playback of divx or other video on tv, but i the output on on tvout is terrible slow, it chops as if it has no enough performance ... on monitor the movie runs smooth but on tv not... i have celeron900mhz, 256mb ram, .... but the cpu load is about 40% during the playback ...
did someone else experienced similar problems ?

    thanx
    Peter

    Hi figliar,

I have a similar system like yours and my playback is fine, therefore I guess it must be your configuration ...
Despite my nickname causing confusion, I am not female ...

Is any other hardware sharing IRQ with G550? What OS you using? More info is required if you want ppl to help...

        Hi,
and thank you guys for your replies, yes it seems to be the matter of system congiguration,
i'm running windows 98 with the latest 672 drivers, now i don't know if some other hw is sharing irq with the card but i'll take a look, its possible beause bios distributes irq's in very strange way ...
for divx playback i use latest divx codec, plus divxg400 filter for subtitles (but the playback isn't smoot without this filter too) and mediaplayer ...
as i mentioned i have celeron 900mhz, stuck in abit-st6-raid board with 256megs of ram ...
other pheripherials: teac 532e cdrom, adaptec pci scsi controller + teac R565 burner, realtek pci network card, onboard audiuo ...
i'll soon get a new hdd and then i'll reinstal the the computer from the scratch once again ... so maybe it will be better
