  • AVI_IO and YUV2 - new option introduced

    Hi everybody

Just wanted to let you knwo that I introduced a new option specially made for the YUV2 patched matrox marvel driver. It apears that the capture driver does not properly deliver a flag that marks the frames as key frames. AVI_IO is now having a new option "force Keyflag's" which turn's that flag constantly on and thus creates avi's with a valid index. Then a bug in combination with the huffyuv codec got fixed too. I thaught that some of you might be interested to hear that. Registered users can request a free minor update (as always). The trial on AVI_IO's homepage
    http://www.nct.ch/multimedia/avi_io/

    got updated.

    Thanks for your attention

    Markus

    Hi Markus,
I am a registered owner of AVI_IO but I also have a problem: with the new Matrox w2k beta, everything works fine until I quit your program. At that time, I get a BSOD with the message unexpected page locked. Now of course I don't know if it comes from your program or from the Matrox capture driver. Have you any idea on this, on a way to avoid it? Thank you.

I am watching the TV and it's worthless.
If I switch it on it is even worse.

Lot's of bug's meanwhile got fixed. I'm in the business of sending out a (still minor) update to all users. I want to add one thing and fix another thing :-) before I send it out, but if you experience problems (like the meanwhile fixed crash under NT and W2K on exit) feel free to send me an e-mail requesting a minor update.

If this doesn't show just how well Markus supports AVI_IO I don't know what will.

        Good job!!

Yes, that's how I feel too. And as a developper, I know what it means. Many many thanks Markus.

Keep up the good work, Markus!

AVI_IO is the only program that I can use for serious capture work on my Marvel.

I used the demo for a while, but I finally saved up my pennies and registered. It was well worth it!

Me too Markus - As far as I'm concerned, AV_IO is an officially adopted piece of software for Desktopvideoworld. Damn I wish we'd worked out a commission deal a year ago

Keep on pluggin, we'll be supporting you !

Definite plug here too. I've only been using it for a month or so and it does all my caps now. Best $25 I ever spent. Thanks Markus

Just wondering, I am away from my PC for awhile, does AVI_IO support DV format captures from firewire card?

I don't think so, but maybe if we talk nicely to Markus.... :-))

Would be nice. Wouldn't even have to support device control to make me happy, just capture.

                        Hi Guys

Thanks for the flowers - I'm really surpriced. Regarding DV support, that's "in the line". However some manufactureres use propriatary interfaces to their DV boards. What will be supported in the first DV version are all boards with DirectShow filters. If everythign goes the way I want it, there will also be support for one propriatary interface. Since the RT2000 falls in the DS category of devices I figure you guy's will be happy campers right away.

                            Attention Guys,

As much as I apreciate your enthusiasm, don't register AVI_IO just to wait for the DV option. Wait for it to be released, download the trial (which I will make available at that time) and try it out. If it then fit's your needs it's ok to register. I prefer to have customers who know in advance what they get :-)
