  • Field order of DV material

    Hello,

how can I check for the field order of DV material? I capture
with scenalyzer live from my firewire card to Type-1 DV.

Now I do not know how to set up the USP6.0 project (A,B,full)
and how to set the clips (fieldorder A,B,full).

    Source is Panasonic 27 PAL.

    Any idea?
    Best Regards,
    Karlson.

I don't know how "standard" this is, but my Sony and Canon are Field order A when editing in MSP6. I think DV specifies the field order, but I'm not sure that field order A set in one editing package is the same as "upper first or lower first" in another.

Basically capture a short clip with significant motion. Set the project field order and import the clip. Render and produce an output file. Export the rendered file back thru your camcorder while watching on a TV monitor. Wrong interlace will be obvious.

If you have a camcorder that shoots progressive mode then your video will be frame based.

    HTH,
