  • Can't get Matrox G400 TV to capture

Hi, Hope there is someone out there who can help me! I have the following config.
    Asus K7V, Athlon 700mhz, 128MB RAM, Win95
    and Matrox G400TV.
The matrox is also my display adapter and this is working correctly however, when I go
to VCR Remote to try and capture it keeps saying that the matrox video editing hardware is not available and to close some applications eventhough on Windows is open.
I've checked Interrupts and there is no conflicts, so I'm at a lose to know what to do
    Thanks

You will get a faster (and probably better) answer in the Desktop Video forum. That's where all the Marvel/RR-G editing gurus hang out.

This thread will be relocated to that forum...

      Hi Mob,

First thing to check is that you ran the QuickConnect feature - if you didn't then this is likely to be the cause.

If you did, then there is a whole lot more info on this subject right here at www.desktopvideoworld.com starting with the FAQ's and Idiots Guides.

      Cheers

          Hi,
I went to FAQ's and did the following:
I removed the Matrox driver as the display driver and use a Standard VGA one, and then booted up. However when I went to install the matrox software it made the matrox driver the display driver. Also Quick Connect didn't work but I don't know why.
I have the marvel cable going from the board to the break-out box. This is the exact error I get:

Matrox video editing hardware is currently not available. Another program may be using
your Matrox video editing hardware or there may not be enough graphics memory avilable.

Before trying to use Matrox video editing hardware again, (1) try closing any other program
that may be using it (for example, video capture, playback or editing programs), or (2)
try lowering your display resolution or color palette (a 16-bit color palette is recommended.)

sorry if I'm doing something stupid!
