  • Media Studio 5.2 with marvel G400

    I have a question specificly to a person who had any experience with Media Studio 5.2:

    DOES MEDIA STUDIO 5.2 HAS THE ABILITY TO PLAYBACK SMOOTHLY FROM ITS TIMELINE TO THE VIDEO OUTPUT OF MY G400 (unlike the Premiere)?

    Another words, could I just play from the timeline and record it to the tape, without previously rendering whole to the separate avi???

      I'll go one better: HELL YES!

      There is one qualification: you must have "smartrender" turned on. Simple.

      If there are any special effects, titles or filters those frames (and only those frames) will be rendered FIRST. Don't worry, this is quick as only the affected frames are rendered. These short sequences are transparently stored as temporary files and are then played back in sequence with the unrendered segments to the deck.

      Just make sure you relocate your c:\windows\temp directory to the capture drive (ex: d:\temp). Do the same for all the MSPro temp file preferences. That way all the video, temporary and otherwise, is on the video drive all the time.

      C:\windows\temp relocation is done by adding the following to the autoexec.bat file;

      SET TMP=D:\TEMP
      SET TEMP=D:\TEMP
