    Tci1,

I installed the new drivers, and it actually did make a significant improvement. I find I can still see the interference when I darken the image, so I cannot get my true original colors. Sigh. I'm not sure if it matters, but my VCR is close to my monitor.

a bit more information, maybe it will help us troubleshoot.

    OS: Win 2K
    VCR: JVC HR-S4800u

#$@! I restarted and the symptoms came back exactly the same as before. Screw this... if you want I'll go halves with you on a RT25000...provided you live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. lol. Well, good luck. We may just be pooched on this one..

I use Win98SE and I usae the JVC Suite Br-800 & BR-500. Just darken the monitor masks the problem. To solve it the card has to be changed bitch to matrox nicely. I will be returning mine on Mnoday. Sadly I cannot use the Matrox RT2500 as it requires a Pent 4 system. Rats.

I don't know who told you that you need a P4 for an RT2500, but that just isn't true. A P4 is nice, but a P3 will work just fine. Most problems with RT2500s are MOBO compatibility. Take a look at the System Recommendations at the Matrox Web site.

I looked at the web site and my Mobo wasn't on the list and I swaer they say it needs a P4. I have been wrong before. I have a Pent lll 850, 384 ram and Intel SE440BX-2.

I stand corrected. The RT2000 supports the Intel SE440BX-2 and they state pent lll will work. However they do not certify the Intel SE440BX-2 for the RT2500. They certify a Pent lll with the 815 chipset. This on the system requirements on the Matrox web Site.

Ok! I reinstalled my old Rainbow Runner and I get excellant video out. I think that has to prove my other equipment isn't causing the problem. I believe they have a run of marginal or bad chips in the latest of batch of G450ETV cards out there. At any rate mine goes back on monday and if my Tape to DVD business show any kind of volumne I get the RT2500 so I can import a tape do a quick author via DVD Factory and out it goes to my customers. Now I would rerender via TMPne over night and then author. So far my customers are happy. Wish me luck.
