  • G400 HD + New Beta Drivers = Dual Overlays???

    Hey Everybody,

I just got a G400 MAX, hooked it up to my RRG, installed the new Beta Drivers (for XP), and now have dual overlays!!!!!! I have been able to watch TV in a window (from my RRG ) on both screens. I can drag the window across both screens, and I can also watch DIVX movies in a window on both screens. Unfortunatly I can't seem to do the same with WinDVD. I was wondering if any of you guys have had similiar success? Is this a result of the new Beta Drivers?

DivX doesn't necessarily needs overlay to play back. When it can't create an overlay surface it will play back through a more software(CPU)-based decoding mode.

Try the windows magnifier (accessibility tools) and check wether the video remains black on both windows in the magnifier bar. If it does, both windows will use overlay.

btw. which driver version did you try?

I tried 5.82 + Win2k and 2 mpeg streams playing back in mediaplayer 6.4 .. no go, as one doesn't use overlay
