For those interested in the AMD 760 MPX based dualie mainboards LostCircuits.com has a review of the Asus K7M266D, Tyan Tiger MPX and the MSI K7D-L;
As mentioned before most users are better off with a fast single CPU unit. IF, however, you do need dualies it looks like the Tyan Tiger MPX has the easiest upgrade path for most.
The advantage of the MPX over the MP?
1. 66mhz 64 bit PCI slots. the MP only has 33mhz 64 bit slots.
2. that 66mhz/64 bit path goes all the way through the system. In the MP it doesn't.
3. MPX offers 4 x the interconnect bandwidth between AGP/memory and the I/O controller
Total bandwidth in the MPX: 533 mb/s
Normal bandwidth is 133 mb/s
