Timeshift with G400-TV?

Is there any way to get the timeshifting functions of the G450-eTV using the G400-TV (under Win98SE, if that makes a difference)? I notice that the 2.02 Video Tools will install under Win98, but the README file says the timeshift features are for the eTV only - is the hardware different for this function, or just a decision on the software being offered for the two?
