  • Premiere6 diminished sound problem

Previewing the edit of a small 15 min movie all is fine with audio & video (A/V). Exporting the timeline to a movie file, again, all is OK with A/V.

However, converting this same file to MPEG1 or MPEG2 (Ligos or TMPG), the resultant sound is reduced in volume quite considerably. Approx half to two-thirds is DOWN in gain from its DV AVI original.

Is there any explanation for this and what is the remedy ? What I want to avoid is having to turn UP the gain (pull up the rubber bands) on the audio tracks.

This never happened when converting DV AVI files to MPEG in MSPro so why should it happen in Premiere ?

    Grateful for any suggestions.
