  • Mspro 6.0 & the Ulead32.ini file

    During the past few days I have used more versions of the ulead32.ini than you can shake a stick at !

    This was because of slow-going with MSPro6 Video Editor - (see topic of mine starting on May 31). Thanks to some alterations to this file as well as adjustments to the system.ini file & the 'system properties' dialogue box, V/Editor works OK now with instant grabbing of the frame when clicking the timeline,

    BUT! another problem rears it's ugly head - "Multiple File Playback Error". Just occasionally this appears to gum up the works. I thought I'd rid myself of this dreaded warning by following the various topics & threads on this BB of MURC as well as Ulead's Tech Support site.

    So, does anyone out there on this BB have The Absolute Definitive Version of the ulead32.ini file ? There seem to be so many versions!

    In particular are the two paragraphs: [HardwareAcc] & [Playback] Below are my current settings:

    [HardwareACC]
    AviPlayEngineMCI=1
    HwCodecID=dmb1
    ;AlwaysKeepLastFrame=1
    DisableAcc1=0
    RecompressWhenScrubbing=0
    DirectAccessDVAudio=1
    NotSaveOpenDML=1

    [Playback]
    RenderAudio=1
    ;PlayDll6=c:\msp52\u32mpb.dll
    PlayDll2=C:\PROGRA~1\MATROX~1\MCLPlugin.dll
    PlayDll7=U32mpb.dll
    PlayDll8=U32mpbm.dll
    PlayDll9=Upbplug2.dll

    These settings work OK apart from the occasional "Multiple File Playback Error".

    Grateful for any comments.

    My set-up: AMD K6-2 333Mhz - AT p/s - Asus P5A-B Socket7 M/Board - Matrox Marvel G200 AGP VidCap/Graphics card 16Mb SDRAM - 192Mb of system RAM - 10.1Gb system/boot HD disk - 16.8Gb video HD disk - both IBM Deskstars. Win98SE. Creative CD-RW 4x2x24x. MediaStudioPro v6.0.

    Merv, it's simple.
    Delete the line:
    PlayDll2=C:\PROGRA~1\MATROX~1\MCLPlugin.dll
    or if you're uncertain, rem-out the line with a ';' (semi-collon). But, trust me, it helps.
    It ain't over 'til the fat lady sings...

      Right on Fred. I had the same problem a couple of weeks back and saw the suggestion on the Electric Eyes site. Those guys seem to really know what is going on over there. Everythng that they suggest has worked for me.
