    Does anybody can give me a URL or any suggestion to find optimal settings for capturing videos (I intend to create VCD) under Adobe Premiere 6 and using a Matrox Rainbow Runner video card?

    ThanX in advance!

    1. Go to a warehouse store and buy a bulk sized bottle of Motrin. You're gonna need it.

    2. Add the following entries to the prem60.ini file (located in the Premiere installation folder);

    [codec]
    keepopen=dmb1

    [Override]
    NoDirectShow=1

    3. When setting up Premiere reduce the number of Undo buffers to 3 (default = 20). Otherwise Premiere will eat physical RAM like crazy, eventually locking up when your system runs out.

    4. Download the Video Server plugin from http://www.videotools.net and install it. This will give you the option to export a fake *.avi file that programs like TMPGEnc, Windows Media 8's encoder etc. etc. can load and encode direct from the Premiere timeline. Saves on creating a lot of huge *.avi's for encoding.
