Looks like Sonic Foundry is ready to release their video editor suite, as I got an e-mail from them today touting a special deal: $300 off the $699 price...

    I wonder...

The beta that I downloaded a month or so ago seemed a bit overburdened with user unfriendly (well, maybe that's the wrong term...) ... perhaps convoluted and too complex of a user interface to suit me, so I never really went anywhere with it beyond a couple of rudimentary sessions where it didn't seem any better than MSP6.

Anybody been more into the beta than I have? Does anyone think that this might be worth latching onto? I'd have to say that if the pgm is really worth what they're charging for it, I'd like to take advantage of the price break and suffer through the learning curve.

I used it for about a week or so and found it geared to the music video set. Unless they added some other features I don't see it as a mainstream editing package....

Yeah, that's pretty much the only avenue of thought I really had on it at the time, too. But I have to pause and wonder why the heck they think they can get a market share at that $699 price??? Did I miss something when I looked at the Beta, or is it just so heavily laden with user controls over EVERYTHING that it cost them an arm and a leg to develop?

      oh well...

I'm saving up for a down payment on a JEEP, anyway, so I think I'll stick to that course for now.
