  • Parhelia

As we've been told to expect no more Marvels, I find it interesting that the leaked Parhelia block diagram shows a camcorder in the upper right hand corner connected to some components labelled "High Fidelity Video Engine" and "VIP 2.0 Video Interface." Can anybody in the know comment about this?

At the very least, I expect to see a "RT8500" or similar based on the Parhelia in the same way that the RT2x00 is based on the G400.

Vidcap is in the hands of the Video group now, and they are not producing cards with TV tuners etc. Things like the RT-2x00's and their sucessors will be the order of the day over there.

But what about a simple video-in?
            I don't really need a tuner, but I do need video-in as I do need video-out.

Then if you go Matrox, your only bet is an RT2500.

              DV-IN/OUT
              Simply Analog in/out

              RT effects etc..

              Regards,

Anyway, if you look carefully at the leaked block diagram, you will see, next to the camcorder, an arrow going *out* from the video engine.

I am watching the TV and it's worthless.
If I switch it on it is even worse.

well I saw the chip diagram & I hoped the same thing...but I think Haig, in another thread on another forum stated something to the effect that the VIP may or may not be on the final chip and if it is it is for the Video group to utilize for there products....he could be sand bag'n though......... When I need a TV source with my RT-xxxx's I just ust the tuner in one of the SVHS decks. That gives the analog TV signal for captures.

For an onscreen TV you're better off with a WinTV cad in there.
