  • How can I watch "old" digitised AVIs on Win 2K

    Hi

I have a 4GB AVI captured with my Marvel G400-TV. I have now updated my system to Win 2K but the new Video Tools and drivers for win 2K do not support the DMB1 codec.

Is there a way how can I output my footage? Or do I have to revert back to Win 98?

    Thanks

You'll find a MJPEG patch in the utilities section here on MURC. This will give you the opportunity to view and convert your file. Because hardware MJPEG compression isn't supported in either W2K or XP, using the patch will compromise system stability. It is therefore suggested that you convert your file to whatever format suits you best.

PicVideo MJPEG codec decodes Marvel dmb1 quite nicely.

I've used it to convert my G200 stuff I couldn't recapture to DV format.

eYup....PICVideo is the way to go, even if you have an MJPeg enabled card in Win2K. Better quality and more flexible settings.

Oh yeah, PICvideo! I forgot about that... sometimes solutions are far more simple than you first think of...
