  • choppy on monitor and tvout :(

I was suffering from choppy playback on my tvout while it was ok on the monitor. Strange enough, when i disabled my soundcard (soundblaster pci 128 -ct4810) the choppyness stopped.
I bought a new soundcard (soundblaster audigy player). This seemd to solve all the problems. Playback on monitor and tvout was superb

But when i tried to play back an avi with ac3 sound playback became choppy as hell , both on monitor and tvout. I installed all the latest drivers and ****.

OS: winxp, win2k and win98 (same prob on all osses)

I also tried disabling every not needed device in my comp. It didn´t help.
BTW there are no shared IRQ´s

I really hope sombody could help me coz it´s really annoying me.

    ASUS CUSL2
    p3 733
    SB Audigy IRQ 5
    marvel G400 IRQ 11

in either w2k or xp, check the cpu utilasion....

See if same happens vith a real dvd,,,

And be prepared to get lots of answres that go along these lines:

same story with a real dvd

      cpu usage for dvd= 35%
      for divx= 65-70%

Are you using DVDMAX? If so turn on the field based scaling if it isn't already on.
