  • Computer DV footage to VCR

    Hi

Can I use an RGB to Scart cable to feed a VCR with a sacrt RGB input??? Will it accept DV footage?

    Thanks

probably not , i know of only 1 or 2 VCR that accept Scart RGB , both are high end S-VHS models made by philips

If you don't have good TV out card in the computer , send the DV file back to the camera and playback
from the cameras TV out to the vcr .

      Thanks zeb7

...that’s the whole point. I have a Panasonic NV-HS1000 with an RGB input. I wish I can utilize this.
I need to output video regularly and I will definitely kill my camera with exhaustion.
So it’s either this or buy myself a better card.

      Best regards

To get component RGB out of the S-video connecter , you must make the lead you're self , or have someone make it
for you from the info in this diagram :

personally i use S-video , i never made this RGB scart lead , because i don't expect their to
be much quality increase over S-video , especially with the limited colour Definition DV has ,
And the RGB to YUV conversion will be done in the HS-1000 as its recordings to tape
So their will be little difference , not like the difference with Composite and S-video.
If you do deiced to make the lead make sure to use high quality cable's.connecters and solder or
the picture quality will look worse than a high quality S-video lead bought from the shop's.

another way to increase Quality is to make a custom lead from the D-connecter on the G-400
to SCART ( without using the BOB box ) their is a diagram on the Matrox forums also.
