    Houston, we have a problem...

Elie, I don't know if the problem is with my computer or with your streaming video, but as soon as MediaPlayer started to try and play it my computer locked up tight.

Nothing wrong with the file ;-)
      Played fine for me!

Played fine here, too, I assume. Elie, it is supposed to look like a series of stills that show the results of the effects, correct?

LOL, it's best if you download it by right clicking on the link and click on save as.

The video is not a bunch of stills, you may see it that way because the conncetion may not be fast enough to stream at full 29.97 frames.

            Hope this helps.

Interesting. I'll have to try it again later. I am on cable and usually the connection can handle anything.

I'm uploading yet another demo, same file name so use the same link.

Just give it a few minutes from the time of this post.

                Regards,

Well, with the new link there was no problem with my computer locking up this time. Still don't know for sure what happened last time.

Elie, did you shoot the footage for this demo?

Hi Patrick, glad you were able to see it this time.

No I did not shoot the footage, it was given to me by Matrox is a demo CD.

They prodice all the RT2500 demo's from it, So I used the same footage to make my own RT.X100 demo

Everything is that demo was in Real-Time

                      Cheers,
                      Elie

Your new file buffers and streams fine for me now too. The slow motion is nice and smooth. The other effects look good, but, not enough clip to really get a good look at them. Thanks for the demo. Post some more when you can.

Sometimes I get confused about realtime hardware. I keep hearing that software, along with powerful processors will soon create all the realtime power we will need, but then here's another hardware solution. This one says it "leverages the scalable power of your CPU..." Does that mean it gets more out of average-speed CPU's (my P4 1.8Ghz for instance) or does it require a lot more CPU than that to really realize "The Power Of X." Sometimes it's hard nail down what to buy to get ready for the future.

I agree dchip about not enough footage to judge, but just imagine spending 20 seconds or so on each effect, what would happen to the file size lol

The objective of this demo is to show how you can combine CPU based effects with hardware based effects like the Lens Flare and Picture in Picture etc.

I still feel that hardware assited solutions like the RT.X100 is needed to run 3D/3D effects with keyframbility in Realtime, otherwise the CPU alone cannot handle all the effects and process DV footage at the same time.

If you look at the Canopus Storm, it does not have any 3D effects or keyframability in realtime, it must render beccause it depends entirely on CPU.

The RT.X100 is a hybrid solution, which works well here.. you gotta check it out!

                          Salute

                            What was I thinking?

Elie, I should've realized it wasn't your footage when there wasn't a single Maserati in the video!
