      John,

I hope that ADS have sorted the problems out with this thing. Judging by the comments in the ADS news group it a real hit and miss situation with this thing with some people swaring by it and others saying it's the worst thing ever released. But why stick to USB 1?? Why not go to USB2 or Firewire for the MACs as the cost of the MAC product is about $200 higher than the PC version.

        Hi Paul

The ADS IDVD works great as long as the computer is optimised i.e. seperate video hard drive, there also are some PC updates coming early August that will fix the audio synch for some users when burning + a VS6 fix for MPEG editing without audio synch.

The MAC version has different software to the PC version.

My apologies to Jerry for hijacking his thread, my reason for posting was the MAC link, which Ulead also seem to be pursuing.

If you want any more IDVD info check out

        Regards

        John

I'd love to see Ulead come out with a Mac AND Linux version of MSP7. With Mac OS X based on BSD Unix, if you can do it on Mac, Linux isn't that hard anymore.

Since Linux is "free" Ulead could bundle an entire distribution insuring that the entire system the user is running is what was developed against! This could be the ultimate dedicated PC based editing machine. More sophistcated users could install MSP on their distribution of choice, but the original would always be just a dual boot away for troubleshooting!

You got my vote for that. I skipped the upgrade to 6.5 on my box. If Ulead decides to port 7.x over to Linux I will be all over that purchase.

I wonder if anyone has sucessfully tried MSP in Linux using Wine? My initial attempts have been less that sucessfull. Maybe it's time to give it another go.
