  • DivX vs VHS

I got a couple dvds and have manged to get around that Macrovision problem with TV out.

This as got me thinking, my initial plan was to convert these to Single CD DivX meaning a bitrate of about 700.
Now that I can just record it to a VHS tape, I started thinking if it is really worth the 8 hours to convert to DivX.
If I convert to DivX, the quality of the video should be better, and its nice to have a movie on a CD.
If I have it on VHS, its much quicker.

My question is how different is a typical DivX movie compared to a VHS tape in terms of video quality.

aargg... 700 is a bit low. If you set it to 1200-1500 (well... so that it will fill up 2 cd's), it is definitely worth converting it. And what does that extra cdr cost you? right, almost nothing!

    - What do you get when you put N nVidia whores in a circle and each one pats the person on their right on the back and says "nVidia wins 3dfx and Michael Knight any day of the week!" ?

    - You get N people with a boosted ego, and no-one loses anything; keep up the good work, boys!
