How do I transfer DV through firewire in Win2k?

How would I transfer minDV from my Sony TRV27 to my hard drive in my Win2k system? Is there a cheap or free program I can use? I am unfamiliar with DV editting and my friend has been asking me for help on how to do it. Any help would be great. THanks a lot!

There should be an "editing app" bundled with your 1394 card.

Install and use it. You can do a web search to see if Windows versions of the "free" Kino or DVgrab for linux exists.

AVIO has a free trial that might work, but ultimately you'll have to buy an editing app if the card didn't come with one.
