  • ogg vorbis for audio

I have been making a few mpeg4(divx 4.12) cd's using mp3 for the audio, but since I have reinstalled windows 2k my mp3 codecs are all screwed up and can't remeber what ones I was using.

rather than play around with mp3, I want to start using ogg vorbis because it has better compression/quality...and its free

I download some direct show filters? for ogg vorbis encoding but the results have not been to good...audio out of sync, and sound is a but "tinny".

anyone tried and had any luck
or know what the differnt levels 1,2,3 and + means for the encdoing codec?

I've been using Ogg Vorbis instead of MP3 (LAME) for the past few months now and only great results. I use BeSweet and OggMachine to do my encoding which you can get over at www.doom9.org. Also be sure to read his encoding guide which gives a couple vorbis tips.
