  • What display settings to use? any tips?

    The buttons on my monitor for adjusting the contrast etc its broken.
    So i was wondering if there is any who has some tips for me to what settings i could use in programs that uses the vidcap driver.
    Ill guess people normally adjust them for each capturing (but what to recomend for mostly anything?

    i mean in diplay properties in programs like avi_io and virtualdub

    Saturation = ?
    Brightness = ?
    Contrast = ?
    Hue = ?

    Please let me know what you normally have it on

    btw, im using matrox marvel g400,
    and mainly the captures is from digital satalite receiver or homevideos(vcr)!!!

      The recommended TV-Out settings in Powerdesk, or DVDMax settings in the dualhead cards, when doing video are suggested by Matrox to be;

      NTSC

      Brightness : 180
      Contrast : 234
      Saturation : 137
      Hue : 0

      PAL

      Brightness : 167
      Contrast : 255
      Saturation : 138
      Hue : 0

      As for the Display settings in AVI_IO, PC-VCR or other proggies I use:

      Saturation: 500
      Brightness: 549
      Contrast: 500
      Hue: 500

        Should i set both Desktop tv settings and DvDmax tv settings to that you mentioned?
        Or only one of those should i change?

          I just set the DVDMax settings. I mentioned the TV-Out settings for those cards/driver combos where there is no DVDMax option.

            Hmm, do you allways use the display settings on default?
            cause it seems that my videos are a little to bright if its not just my monitor that are pretty broken

            and i wont do that much with the settings since my monitor is not possible to change contrast, brightness on etc anymoore ( i usually capture from digital satalite) is there any reason for changing then? or just stick with the default?
