video capture, winXP, and headaches a plenty...

Hi All,

I couldn't find my Matrox disk with PC-VCR on it, which I knew I could use for capturing and such. That was OK though, because I knew there was a plethora of other software that could capture as well. Anyhow, after downloading a few of them, all of them could not find my capture device! So I reinstalled the drivers, tried the most recent drivers, nothing seems to work. Is this an XP issue? I hope someone has a decent solution, I have no clue what's going on and I need this video...sigh.

You'll need to make sure you are using VFW capture programs, not WDM based ones. Try AVI_IO http://www.nct.ch/multimedia/avi_io/
