    Hi there,

No, you definately can NOT use Avid Cinema in an NT environment. If you want editing software that's not too complicated, I suggest you take a look at Ulead VideoStudio or Magix Video deLuxe.

tnx by answering, but is there anyother video editing software that uses matrox compresion?
I dont know too much about all this but I think avid cinema was created to be used with matrox g200 marvel card. Will anyother soft run so especificly like Avid Cinema ?
      thnx again?

Yes, other video editing applications will work with Matrox compression (this is MJPEG compression done by a chip on your Marvel card). BUT, and this is important, the Matrox hardware compression is only supported in Windows98 and ME. For Windows2000, you will have to change the capture settings to a software codec like HuffYUV or PicVideo MJPEG. With a software codec, the compression will no longer be done by your Matrox card, but by the CPU. Which means that you'll need at least an 800Mhz CPU to do full size video capturing and more is always better.
If you want to keep things simple and use Matrox compression, stick with Windows 98!

No, drivers and video tools for Win2000 disable the hardware compression and provide you with uncompressed video capture possibility in either RGB or (preferred) YUY2. Which can then be compressed on the fly by a software codec as mentioned in my reply above.
