Marvel G200 AGP w/Hardware DVD Module driver compatibility

I purchased a Marvel G200 AGP on the surplus market and wish to install it in place of my G200 Mystique with Hardware DVD module. I am looking for advice as to what drivers/bios to use for Win98 system 400Mhz K6-2 on FIC VA-503+ mobo. I want to transfer the Hardware DVD module to the Marvel, so what bios and drivers are compatible?

If you want to play as much of the latest games with the Marvel too, and if you want to try, er... video without something known as M4cr0v15i0n, try

If you're just after stability and use with as much of the latest games as possible, then just use the latest drivers, tools and BIOS from the Matrox drivers page listed for the Matrox HW DVD, NOT the Marvel.

Great SVCD results with Nero 5.5 plug-in

Thank you very much for your post! You certainly gave me the confidence to try bold things with the drivers and it worked fabulously! I have been using a mystique g200 with DVD module and "beta 6" drivers for a couple of years. I still had the beta 6 install files in the C:/mgafold and I simply unplugged the mystique, removed the dvd hardware module and installed it on the Marvel G200 and plugged that into my K6-2 400 system. The computer was powered on, windows 98 went through only 2 boot cycles and automatically installed the drivers for the Marvel and it worked perfectly, even played DVDs without reloading the Zoran player . I loaded the 1.54 video tools and they worked flawlessly. What luck, actually a miracle !

Now the really neat part. I have already made a 7 minute test SVCD with great results on a CD-RW disk. I used a slightly different set of tools than I had seen mentioned in this forum. I captured MJPEG using the Matox PC-VCR and then used Nero Burning ROM MPEG-2 Plug-in which cost me $16. On my 400 Mhz system it will take about 8-10 hours to make a full 80 min. SVCD.

I played the test SVCD on a portable KOSS DVD/CD/CD-R/CD-RW/MP3 Player.
