  • Need advice on Marvel purchase

I am considering purchasing a Marvel G400-TV. I currently own an ATI All-in-Wonder. (not pleased with its performance)I have an ABit KA7 w/Athlon 700. 128MB ram, 27Gb harddrive. I primarly capture from a VCR or television, then edit the captures with Adobe Premiere 5.1. Sometimes use the clips for my website. Is this the card I am looking for based on my needs? Any advice or information on its performance, conflicts, likes, dislikes, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks all, Dave

Well, if you're only gonna use it to record from analog sources, and using it's propertary MJPEG-codec, and fancy some casual gaming once in a while, it should fit your bill.

However, if you DO like to game alot of 1st persons shooters, plan to capture DV-material, would like to capture into video formats other than MJPEG, then I would hesitate to recommend it.

It's a great card, no question about it, but it cannot fulfill all whishes.

You could consider cards from FAST. They have some terrible good capturecards, which does not serv as a normal graphics card (thus leaving you the possibility to get more up to date graphics card, say a G800 or a G-F***).
