    Marvel G-400 + W2k = no go.

Suggest you dual boot with W98SE as the easiest solution.

PC-VCR in that set of tools is just for watching TV. Switch to using AVI_IO for captures.

I use PICVideo MJPeg as the capture/playback Compression, YUY2 704x480 as the Format and have the card set to use DVDMAX so it'll output PICVideo to the analog output of the Marvel. Works fine here.

Don’t agree 100%. I am using W2K SP2 (not SP3!!!) with PD 5.39 (made just for W2k) in combination with VT 2.04 leaked. The record button is present but very unstable. Recording HW MJPEG – no good. Unstable, BSOD etc.
I am using AVI_IO and PICvideo as Doc suggested for analogue video capturing with no major problems. I don’t like dual boot, myself.
WinXP is definitely not for Marvel G400-TV. I am satisfied with W2K SP2.
        I didn’t try DV.

I currently use Win2K SP3 with the Marvel G400-TV. Although hardware MJPEG is out of the question and the record button is absent, I am happy with the results with AVI_IO using HuffYUV or Morgan/PicVideo MJPEG compression. I'm using 5.84.023 drivers with version 2.10.010a Video Tools.

            Patch for RR and Win2k/XP

I upgraded to XP and had exactly the same problem.
I never solved it but before going back to Win98se (other issues than video) used virtualdub and found it much better for capture than the natrox remote.
I understand there is a patch for the RR-G to XP - I think the same goes for Win2k.
