Found one at a Pawn Shop near my workplace with the original owner's hand still attached to it! It's only $399.95! Not bad for a camera that still costs more than $1,000! It's pretty barebones but I've got so much Hi8 equipment from my old CCD-TR81 that I should have no problem integrating it into my collection.
Oh and on that Digital 8 -vs- miniDV issue...
where the TRV900 was compared to the TR7000, if you notice how dark the picture for the TR7000 looked in comparison to the bright TRV900, the guy said he had the shutter speed set at 1/100th for the TR7000 and 1/60th for the TRV900. Is it just me or does increasing the shutter speed decrease brightness? And what's all this about comparing a 3 CCD unit with an "entry level" digital video camera? That's like comparing the Barbie Digital Camera to a NIKON CoolPix 950!
