  • good monitor for NLE work

Was hoping to wait on this upgrade but it cannot wait. I am using a 17" montitor right now and want to step up to a 19" or larger one. Can anyone recommend a good one for NLE work and general use? Looking for a quality monitor that will give me a good image for a long time. Price range $400-$600. Thanks for any suggestions.
    Thanks.

    I'm using a KDS Avitron 195-T.

It uses Sony guts, a 19" Trinitron tube and cost me about $380 USD at Best Buy a few months ago.

    Ostensibly it's a 1600x1200 model, but when used with a G400 it'll easily display 1920x1200. It has a .25mm pitch.

    Works great.

I cannot recommend the following since I don't use it and don't know much about it but I do want a 19" monitor too. I've been interested in the CTX (not KTX) Pro models which appear to be a similar solution to the KDS mentioned above; repackaged Sony Trinitron tubes selling at way less than what you pay for 'genuine' Sony monitors.

I've been very happy with my Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 900u.

        Diamondtron flat screen crt, 0.25dp, 1600x1200 @75hz.

(my first one was replaced under warranty due to a weird ghosting pattern but the second unit has performed flawlesly so far...)

Thanks. I tell you, when working with timelines and intricate little settings a good montior is crucial. I now operate at 800x600 on my 17" IBM. It's a nice monitor but I want to go to at least 1024x768 or higher without eyestrain. I am also finding that my Logitech trackball may not be precise enough for this work. What mice are you folks using? Thanks again.

I edit at 1152x864 or 1280x960. As for mice I use a Microsoft wheel mouse.
