  • How I determine my mobo type and spec?

I'm trying to enure I have the very latest drivers for my motherboard, which I suspect has a Via chipset (yes, I know the probs!
How do I determine my mobo and chipset type, so I ensure I install the correct, latest drivers?
    Many thanks,
    Will Hay

Look in the manual that came with it! If you don't have one, look at the board itself and find a maker's name and model # and check it out on the 'Net. The chipset maker has his name on the larger ICs. You can download BIOS updates (assuming it's flashable) from the maker's web site.

      Thanks.
I was thinking there was something in 'system devices' (which I checked) which I could look at, rather than digging around inside.
Mine is a bit of a minefield, and means I have to disconnected a fair few stuff from the back but so be it.
