VDub is good at splitting files. It only drops a couple of frames.
I capture at 352X288, mainly due to the fact that i don't have much HDD space at the moment . . . You could try this with 704x576 see how it goes...
I put all the caps into Premiere, and use MPEG authoring software modifing the SVCD codec as follows:
Video Bitrate 966Kbps, Constant Bitrate (it will be set to variable)
Audio Bitrate 64Kbps, single channel.
A couple of hours later (or depending on your system speed), it's made a file that will be up to 695MB, depending on how long your video 8 footage is.
Burn it to CD and there you have it!
