  • How do you delay capture?

Is there a way to delay the time that the rainbow runner looks for a video signal to capture? Or is it possible to turn off the feature so you can capture even black screen before the camera's signal comes through? I'm using a Mediamotion Batch Capture Device in Adobe Premiere 5.1. When I tell it to batch capture it immediately turns on the Rainbow Runner's capture ability which, in turn, immediately gives the "Unable to capture video due to unstable or unavailable video source, ah blah, blah, blah!" I don't need the Rainbow Runner to be that "smart".

Rant over! Help my skinny ass.

AKAIK there's not a work around for your request. The problem is that the RR needs a video signal to lock on to, or it will not be able to sync the recorded sound with the recorded video. If this was forced anyway, you would have the sound out of sync (though not by much, it would be less than 1/framerate [sec]) and I belive this is why that particular procedure have been ommitted.

Or I could be way off... anybody else got a clue, Dr Mordrid? This_Idiot?

It also occurred to me that it could be a setting that I could jack with that controls the sequence of events that transpose directly after I click the "RECORD" button. In other words, perhaps it is a setting I can tweak with MediaMotion's registry crud. Just because I hit "RECORD" doesn't mean it has to happen immediately.

Why does it try to capture immediately when I've given it Log-in/Log-out points? Shouldn't it then advance to those points and then engage the capture card? I thought that was what batch capturing was all about...
