Quicktime issue

I have a Marvel G400 TV with drivers 5.82 and Windows XP. When I play videos in Quicktime 6, they output through DVD Max, but if I advance it frame by frame, the video output stays always in the last frame before pausing. If I press play again, the video plays to the output again. I can output frame advance in any other format in other players, so probably this is some issue with the Quicktime player use of the DirectX layer. Anyone found a succesful way to output frame advance using mov files in QT player?
