  • Best Way to do Slow Motion?

    Hi everybody,

in my current project, where I cut scenes from a live-gig of my band, I want to use slow motion in some places.

I want to capture the video as 352x576, 25 f/sec (PAL) with Huffyuv compression. What would be the best way to achieve high quality slo-mo?

    Thanks in advance,
    Thorsten

An editor like MSP or Premiere, once you've told it the field order of your video, should give you high quality slow motion. Sometimes this will produce some flicker, so you may opt to change the field settings to work around this problem, but in most cases, the proper field order will work.

What's the proper field order for your card? Good question. Tell us what your hardware is, along with your editing software, and someone should be able to give you answer.

Here's a thread from the end of last year. It may or may not be of any relevance.

Unfortunately, this thread along with many others doesn't show up in a Search because there is a "hole" in the Search function from early November to early January.

        Hi again,

Thanks for your help. Sorry that I forgot to mention that in my first post: I work with a G400-TV and Premiere as editing software. Anything specific to consider using this combination?

        Bye,
        Thorsten
