  • RT2000, PREMIERE & AMD K7

I have an Athlon 650 Mhz running on an ASUS
K7M Motherboard. After buying the system, I
decided to purchase the RT2000. The installation went fine and I have no problem capturing my DV from my Sony DCR-PC100 through the firewire connection. The problem I'm having is in trying to export the AVI file to anything like an MPG. When Adobe Premiere export gets 95% complete, the system hangs. I've tried just about everything. It takes forever to get support on the line and about the only advice they seem to have is that I need a stand-alone media drive. I have a 27 GB drive which I've partitioned to give me a 21 GB E: media drive for capture.

I'm considering buying a new computer which will work flawlessly with the RT2000. Any suggestions?

Does this mean the other 6 gigs is being used for the C:\ drive and OS?

If so that's a fundamental mistake right there. You should NEVER put video and OS on the same drive. EVER. If the swapfile tries to write while the video drive is working all manner of things can (and usually does) happen. On top of that Premiere is a bit twitchy when it comes to filesystem hiccups anyhow.

    NotGood.
