Let's put it this way: it can load, save and use 3D Studio objects in its animations, of which there are literally millions on the 'net. That is of course assuming the one you want isn't already canned. LOTS of new 3D objects right in its EasyPalette.

If you want to change or create your own objects it lets you use metaballs, a lathe & a bunch of other featues to sculpt your own. It also has a freeform tool which allows you to bend, fold, twist, warp and generally mutilate objects to your hearts desire.

Once you have your objects the way you want it lets you animate, composite and manipulate them in ways Cool3D 3.5 never could, including object transparancy and whole new classes of particle effects. You can also make your own particle effects.

Once finished you can just save the project file, load it into MSPro and use it directly. As before you also can save image sequences (*.tga with transparancy), 32 bit *.avi's (with transparancy) etc. etc.

Oh yeah....you can composite your animations over video footage inside Cool3D Studio itself instead of waiting to do it in MSPro or some other editor.

Oh...and one other thing: a keyframer to die for and costs upgraders just $54.95 for the download version. That's cheap for a pretty damned decent "titler" and "web animation" program that by the way does full blown video effects that look gorgeous.

        Nawww.....don't like it a bit

          Yep, it's an amazing value.

I'm buying the upgrade next week.

This is another reason why I put those Commission Junction ads on my Web site.

I can click through the Ulead ads and give myself a discount on software upgrades like this.

          Pretty nifty.

          :-)

I'm beginning to think that with its evolution of features it may replace CGInfinity at some point down the road. It's already looking very Inscriber-like in terms of what it can do with text and objects.

            Whatcha think Jerry?

              I suppose that's possible.

But the great news about COOL 3D STUDIO is that it simply becomes a part of MediaStudio Pro *anyway* by virtue of the SWITCH menu.

The SWITCH menu in Cool 3D Studio shows up not only in MediaStudio Pro's Switch Menu, but now there's a Switch Menu in the Cool 3D Studio application, itself.

This means one can click back and forth between MediaStudio's Video Editor and Cool 3D Studio just as easily as one can click back and forth between Video Editor and CG Infinity!

For that matter, one can click from CG Infinity to Cool 3D Studio now!

However, I'm not so sure I want CG Infinity to be replaced just yet.

CG Infinity still just seems easier for me where 2D work is concerned.

I also love the way one can choose a video frame as a background and then precisely position CG Infinity objects over specific areas of the video frame as a means of doing frame-by-frame animation.

Someday I plan to write free tutorials about various unusual things one can do in MediaStudio Pro.

Everybody already knows how a person can create light sabers and bolts and rays and 'paint' them over video frames using Video Paint.

But I like working with CG Infinity vectors and I really like the way you can put the individual frame into the background in a CG Infinity project and DRAW...

I don't think anybody has ever written a tutorial about how to do Star Wars light sabers in ULEAD CG Infinity.

But I've tested my technique in CG Infinity and it works well.

Cool 3D is a fabulous application, however, and it's obvious Ulead has put a lot of new development effort into it.

(I believe one could use Cool 3D to create frame-by-frame effects such as light sabres and lasers, too.)

Of course, I don't want to sound like I'm obsessed with Star Wars.

              :-)

There are so many more uses for an application such as Cool 3D Studio the list is endless.

Incidentally, one can download FREE 3D models for use in ULEAD Cool 3D Studio.

Here's one of the more popular sites:

Here's an examle of what can be done in Cool3D Studio.

It's one of the canned animations set up for 320x240, 30 fps then frameserved to TMPGEnc.

yup, VideoServer works in C3D Studio!!

                  It was then encoded to 1100 kbps 2-pass VBR MPEG-1;

                  Fish....

Yeah....I was messin' with some robo-Clown fish

Not bad for what started as a 3D titling/web graphics program, 'eh?

You should see 'em when I substitute the normal textures for chrome or some other metallic texture in C3DS.

I just bought the ESD version.

After downloading the program .exe file, you then have to download 136mb worth of components.

Wow... that was one BIG file.

Thank heavens for my T1 connection.

                        :-)

But what an unbelievable program for the money.
