I am trying to run VirtualDub on a fairly basic PC which has a video capture card but NO sound card. I thought that this would not be a problem as VirtualDub has a capture preference setting for capturing audio which can be UN-ticked.
The video displays OK in the preview window. However with capture audio unticked, when I start capture I get an error message box which says "Can't get audio format".
It seems that although I'm telling VirtualDub not to capture audio it is still looking for audio drivers for some reason.
Is there some other setting which I have overlooked?
Alternatively, are there some drivers or other form of software which I can load onto my system which will satisfy VirtualDub's audio checking?
I suppose I could install a soundcard, but it seems a bit bizarre when I don't want to capture audio.
TIA
Colin
