Have a matrox g400+tv capture card.
Use Avid cinema to produce an AVI with codec Matrox mjpeg (W98) (Analog video)
Use nero burning to produce an mpeg straight of the above produced avi file, which plays ok with media-player
Use tmpg to produce an mpeg straight of the above produced avi file, which plays ok with media-player
I now want to re-edit the mpeg with Software being
Magix Videostudio de Luxe 2.0
The tmpg rendered mpg is ok the nero mpg will not come on the time line in Magix.
Question is, does tmpg use a different Codec to Nero? I thought that whatever mpeg is created it will always have the same codec, if even a codec is required.
It takes about forever to recompress on my P3-450
(1min orig to 20 min recompressing) in Nero
(1min orig to 40 min recompressing) in TMPG
Something wrong with my machine or consider buying something new??????????
